Christopher Morley Park has been a favorite among residents since its founding in 1961. The park is the former estate of Nettie Ryan and is named after Christopher Morley, a prolific 20th-century writer. Hiking trails weave through this park. They're appropriate for hikers of all abilities as they are mostly flat and clear. The park also boasts tennis courts, handball courts, and a recently renovated playground for the kids. This park is situated along the waterfront and features several walking paths that offer a lovely view of the shoreline. - Peak Harrison Williams Woods - School Road, Bayville, NY 11709
If you're new to hiking or don't want to go very far, then check out Peak Harrison Williams Woods. This trail is only 0.6 miles long, but you'll see so much nature along the short route. It weaves through sections of dense, old-growth forest, and there are some wetter areas where birds tend to gather. Peak Harrison Williams Woods is fairly well-traveled, so you won't be alone.
