Holiday Baking - Homeowners - Laffey Real Estate

Most of us don't need a reason to bake up a yummy batch of cookies, but National Bake Cookies Day gives us a perfect reason to indulge. Since Bake Cookies Day happens during the Christmas holidays on December 18th, our real estate agents think it's a great way to celebrate your sweet tooth and enjoy the holidays with family and friends.

Whether you're an avid baker or have minimal baking skills, you can bake a batch of Christmas cookies with easy recipes that don't require much skill or time. These simple cookie recipes may get you baking more often.

  • No Spread Sugar Cookies
These sweet, festive cookies are soft and buttery with just a hint of vanilla. No-spread sugar cookies are simple to make and easy to decorate with icing, sprinkles, chocolate, and nuts. They have crisp edges and are easy to cut into various shapes with holiday cookie cutters. They don't take long to make, but you better bake a lot because they will disappear quickly.

  • Holiday Swirled Sugar Cookies
Holiday swirled sugar cookies add vibrant color to standard sugar cookies, which are delicious but rather plain. The colorful icing swirls on top create a smooth, glossy finish that reminds you of peppermint candy canes, a holiday favorite. For extra pizazz, add sprinkles or edible glitter to warm icing to create a definite show-stopper.

  • White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies
What could be better than holiday cookies filled with creamy white chocolate and dried cranberries? With these delicious Christmas cookies, you only have to spend about 20 minutes mixing and 20 minutes baking, plus cool and chill time. White chocolate cranberry cookies are soft, chewy, delicious cookies that will leave you wanting more.

  • Eggnog Blossoms
If you want to impress your holiday guests with spicy-rich flavors, these cookies are a perfect choice. Eggnog blossoms are made with eggnog, cream, nutmeg, and rum, then topped with stripped candy kisses that add an extra flavor of creamy chocolate. In about 1 hour and 30 minutes, you can bake a batch of 24 festive cookies that will be a holiday favorite.

  • Coconut Macaroons
If you're planning a Christmas party or a holiday dinner party, coconut macaroons will be a big hit with your guests. In about 35 minutes, you can bake cookies that will taste like expensive, hand-made macaroons found in bakeries. All you need is condensed milk, eggs, coconut, vanilla, and kosher salt to impress your guests with your baking skills.

  • Cranberry-Orange Butter Cookies
Cranberry-Orange butter cookies are perfect sweet treats for the Christmas holiday season. They are easy to make with just a few ingredients, but they carry a big punch of sweet and tart flavors. In about 1 hour and 10 minutes, you can whip up a batch of 5 dozen mouth-watering cookies. Since the recipe makes a lot, these cookies make great gifts for friends and neighbors.

  • Chocolate Coconut Balls
To make this holiday treat, you only need six ingredients. Chocolate coconut balls are so easy they only take about 15 minutes to make. Just use your fingers to form the mixed ingredients into balls, then chill them in the refrigerator for 1 hour. The result is yummy chocolate balls that melt in your mouth.

  • Gingerbread Cookies
The Christmas holidays don't feel complete without baked gingerbread cookies around the house. These classic holiday cookies filled with warm spices are adorable when decorated like little ginger men. Baking gingerbread cookies is a festive activity to share with the whole family.
