Taking place Sunday, November 27, the Lynn Gartner Dunne, LLP Rob's Run 5K is a cross-country race with both individual and team components. Now in its 30th year, the race is run in memory of longtime Plainview-Old Bethpage Road Runner's Club member Rob Lauterborn. The 5k follows the beautiful trails within Stillwell Woods, not far from these Woodbury homes for sale.
- Seaford Wellness Hot Chocolate 5K Run/Walk - 1575 Seamans Neck Rd., Seaford, NY 11783
The 17th annual Seaford Wellness Hot Chocolate 5K Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, December 3 this year, marking the return of one of Long Island's best 5k races. The 5k begins at Seaford High School and follows a picturesque course through the village of Seaford. All proceeds go toward Seaford school programs, and participants will have a chance to enjoy some hot chocolate and bagels afterward.

Every year, the Long Island Jingle Bell Run is a great opportunity to support a great cause while spreading holiday cheer. This year's race is on Saturday, December 10 at Hofstra University. The run helps raise awareness and funds to support arthritis research, with proceeds benefitting the Arthritis Foundation. The Ocean Parkway Coastal Greenway is a truly beautiful place for a run. Stretching 13 miles alongside its namesake road, the greenway follows the length of Jones Beach Island, all the way from Jones Beach State Park to Captree State Park. Open to cyclists and runners alike, the Bethpage Bikeway stretches just shy of 15 miles from end to end, making it Long Island's longest, fully paved, traffic-free bike path. From its southernmost trailhead in Massapequa to its northern terminus in Woodbury, the path traverses a diverse landscape ranging from secluded woods to suburban neighborhoods, passing through several state parks along the way.

A picturesque nature preserve spanning 270 acres, Stillwell Woods is a great place for a practice run. With trails that meander through meadows and oak forests, the terrain ranges from easy to moderately challenging. The preserve is also the setting of one of this holiday season's most anticipated races—the Lynn Gartner Dunne, LLP Rob's Run 5K—so if you're planning to participate, you can practice on the actual course you'll be running.
