Farmers Markets Around Long Island - Laffey Real Estate

There are so many good reasons to shop at farmers markets. First, it's just fun to walk around and see all the local goods for sale. You also support the local economy, meet the people who grow your food, and purchase fresh produce to enjoy at home. Our real estate agents know the local farmer's market scene and recommend stopping by the following markets on Long Island.

  • Babylon Village Farmers Market: 126 N. Carll Ave., Babylon, NY 11702
The Babylon Village Farmers Market is held in the Babylon Train Station parking lot. It's held every Sunday from 8 am-noon June 15-November 20.

Prominent vendors at this market include Natural Earth Farms, Horman's Pickles, and Orwasher's Bakery. You'll find a bit of everything, from locally grown tomatoes to fresh bread. Pick everything up to make a great meal at home, or even just some snacks to enjoy that afternoon. Stop by some Babylon homes for sale after your shopping trip, too.

  • Northport Farmers Market: 2 Main St., Northport, NY 11768
If you're in the area looking at Commack homes for sale, the Northport Farmers Market is just a short drive away. This market is open on Saturdays from 8 am - 12:30 pm from June 4 - November 12. (The market won't be open on September 17th.)

The Northport Farmers Market is open rain or shine, and it offers a great selection of produce. You'll also find skin products, garden plants, and more.

  • Farmingdale Farmers Market: 361 Main St., Farmingdale, NY 11735
The Farmingdale Farmers Market takes place weekly in the Village Green by the Farmingdale Town Hall. It's a small, local market with a friendly, neighborhood vibe. Visit any Sunday between 10 am and 3 pm through the end of November.

The locally-made pickles are a crowd-pleaser at this market. Customers also love the fresh berries that are sold throughout the summer. Don't forget to look at some Farmingdale homes for sale while you're in the area.

  • Port Washington Farmers Market: 347 Main St., Port Washington, NY 11050
The Port Washington Farmers Market takes place at the Port Washington Town Dock. It's held every Saturday from 8 am until noon, and there are always plenty of vendors.

This farmers market is a great place to buy organic produce. Some vendors sell organic coffee, teas, and honey. You can even stop for a cup of coffee at the tented cafe! You could spend a whole day walking around this market and looking at Port Washington homes for sale.

  • Deep Roots Farmers Market: 100 Garvies Point Rd., Glen Cove, NY 11542
If you're looking at Glen Cove homes for sale, stop by this market while you're in the area. Deep Roots Farmers Market takes place on Sundays between 9 am and 1 pm, June-November.

This market hosts a lot of local farmers. In the summer, they sell a bit of everything, from carrots to radishes. As fall approaches, you'll see things like winter squash and Brussels sprouts. Shop here often, and you'll probably start eating healthier all around.

Regardless of which farmers market you stop by, we hope you discover many delicious, local foods to enjoy. Long Island is great for engaging with your community and shopping from small vendors. If you're moving to the area and still looking for a place to live, contact us. We'd be happy to tell you more about our real estate services.
